In a move set to excite buyers and dreamers alike around the globe, an idyllic Maldives island in one of the country’s most serene atolls has gone on the market. Ifuru in Raa Atoll is a brand-new resort island and its developer is offering a rare, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to purchase the stunning private island for a cool $65 million. Included in the deal are recently-completed and fully functional four-star resort facilities, over 56 hectares of land, lush jungle, and a sparkling white beach.
The never-previously unveiled to the public resort incorporates 150 villas, a beautiful restaurant, bar, grill, semi-open-air Asian specialty restaurant, and a heavenly spa. But the offer doesn’t end there – it also includes a harbor for yachts and deliveries and – uniquely – a fully-operational domestic airport, for unparalleled transport links.
Ifuru has been tastefully designed in an elegant ‘island chic’ style – think exposed driftwood beams and chandeliers made from glass buoys, finely painted porcelain tiles, and coconut thatch roofs. The contemporary, minimalist design takes inspiration from the Maldives and some of the world’s most beautiful properties.
Each beautiful villa is furnished in soft shades of ocean blue and crisp white. Natural materials complete the look of understated sophistication. In total, there are six Twin Villas, 100 Duplex Villas, 35 Beach Villas, and nine Beach Villas with Pool. This creates a maximum bed capacity of 300.
The resort was designed by The Small Maldives Island Co. – innovators in the Maldives resort market and creators of the sublime Amilla Fushi Maldives Resort and Residences, which just recently launched a scheme for Maldives-lovers to purchase their own beachfront Residence.
The icing on the cake, however, is the addition of a second Maldives island in the deal. Funadhoo is a pristine virgin island; an emerald green jewel surrounded by a powder-soft white sand beach. It could be perfect for losing oneself in Robinson Crusoe castaway fantasies and private dining experiences but alternatively, at just over 11 hectares, Funadhoo could accommodate up to 90 villas, should the new owner wish to develop the lush island. (A development concept is available upon request).
Ifuru and Funadhoo are located just 20-25 minutes by domestic flight, 25-35 minutes by seaplane, or three hours by speedboat from Velana International Airport.
It is predicted that Ifuru will offer an excellent return on investment due to its uniquely having its own airport right on the same island as the resort accommodation. This is a rarity in the Maldives, as typically guests would have to take a speedboat journey in addition to a domestic flight in order to get to any resort island. Ifuru Airport is currently managed by Island Aviation Services. Both islands are for sale together on a lease basis for a period of 50 years.
These rare gems are unlikely to stay on the market for long due to high demand for Maldives islands with permission for development (the Maldives has strict laws to protect the hundreds of undeveloped islands in the archipelago). And with the appealing additions of its own airport and a virgin island, no doubt these Maldivian jewels will be snapped up in no time.
