Finolhu declared 2018 Best Luxury Beach Retreat in the Indian Ocean Islands at World Luxury Hotel Awards

Finolhu changed the concept of a Maldives island resort with its chic retro beach club theme on what is now the grooviest island in the Maldives.

Finolhu continues to innovate, recently unveiling its stunning new ‘Beach Bubble’ tent – the first of its kind in the archipelago – on a secluded stretch of its famed Fish & Crab Shack sandbank. The transparent inflatable bubble is a unique, inspiring environment where guests can enjoy an incredible, closer-to-nature experience – without compromising on high-spec design and luxurious creature comforts.

Finolhu’s innovation, its unique vibe and its un-self-conscious attention to detail has reaped a rich reward.

On November 10th, 2018, Ayana Resort & Spa, Bali, Indonesia was the venue of the prestigious black-tie event celebrating the 12th anniversary of the World Luxury Hotel Awards. Over 360 guests flew in from around the world to attend the event, which awarded the world’s finest hotels for their luxury offerings and exceptional service delivery.

Finolhu was Regional Winner: Indian Ocean Islands, in ‘recognition of sustained commitment to excellence in hoteliering and outstanding achievement in the international luxury hospitality industry’.

The Small Maldives Island Co CEO and Curator Mark Hehir said: ‘This is a great recognition for Finolhu and all the wonderful staff that work there. We wanted to be a disruptor, different to all the other luxury offerings available

‘Given the depth and quality of our competitors in The Maldives and the region, we are particularly honoured to win this prestigious award’, Hehir added.
