The sun rose and so did our jet-lagged bodies as we set off on our next adventure to Baa Atoll, also known as the island home to the luxurious, phenomenal, intimate and private resort we were soon to be staying at. There is a 4 hour flight with Tigerair to the main island capital of the Maldives, Male, which is then followed by a 20 minute flight to Baa Atoll and THEN a 10 minute speedboat journey to the one and only – Amilla Fushi. It’s safe to say it’s a mission and a half, however, completely worth it when you wake up to crystal clear water and your own private pool… I’m getting ahead of myself. We arrived at Amilla Fushi at around 8.30pm local island time, which is actually set an hour behind the mainland so you can get more sunlight for happy hour (Question To Everywhere Else In The World: Why is this not more of a ‘thing’?). We were escorted by a buggy to reception where we were greeted with a fresh tea, adorable staff in all-white uniforms, and probably the most extraordinary resort you’ll ever see in your life, lit up by fairy lights.
